CHELSEA EXPECTED TO DO DOUBLE

Premier League winners Chelsea are expected to complete a double this term with their defeat of rivals Arsenal at the FA Cup final next weekend.

The injury crises in defence and the suspension of Laurent Koscielny means Arsene Wenger would have to play other options that Chelsea should be able to muscle out.

When both sides clash at Wembley on Saturday, the bookies say Chelsea would run away winners. Football betting sites give the Blues ¾ odds of victory. It would be a second major title for Antonio Conte’s men in his debut season.

Arsene Wenger would be thrown into a new angle to face criticisms of Arsenal lose the game despite the crises. He is already under pressure to win after he failed to qualify the team for the Champions League next season when they finished fifth in the league. Bookies say the Gunners are 7/2 to win the FA Cup for the third time in four years.

Two of the last three finals reached extra time so the odds that this would reach are 3.7, particularly with the stakes involved.

Arsenal 3-0 win against Chelsea is one of the major turning points this season. Conte responded by switching tactics to a three-man defence and the use of wingbacks. The team used that system to win 27 games and raised their confidence as they return to the Champions League.

Next season Conte and his boys would face stiffer opposition to defend the title whilst playing in Europe. Fewer distractions helped them this term but next season would be different!
