Frank Lampard’s Chelsea are slowly moving in the right direction and fans have been able to remain patient with the young team. Chelsea will be coming into the game only a few days after the difficult away trip against Lille. Even though the blues managed to come out on top against the French outfit, the travel coupled with the midweek exertions could make it a challenge for the blues to come out on top at the St Mary’s Stadium. So far, though, Chelsea have been happy playing away from home, where they have picked up just one victory all season.
In the last few weeks, Lampard has been able to find out the best possible team. Even though the team are still considering a lot of goals – especially from set pieces, that has been a lot of positivity in several areas of the team. The likes of Andreas Christensen and Fikayo Tomori have been able to strike a good partnership while Mason Mount continues to be impressive even if he has not been among the goals of late. Tammy Abraham was able to come up with his first Champions League goals in the win over Lille, and he has now moved to 8 goals from 10 league games so far.
