Chelsea vs Crystal Palace Betting Tips

Premier League holders Chelsea will look to get back to winning days when they visit Selhurst Park to take on Crystal Palace on Saturday.

The Blues were in a good run of form in September before they succumbed to a 1-0 defeat to Manchester City prior to the international break. On the other hand, Crystal Palace could find no success for the seventh game on the trot after they were thumped 4-0 by Manchester United. Roy Hodgson’s side are still on the hunt for their first point and goal of the campaign.

Palace have had no luck whatsoever in front of luck of goal, but they could still be backed to win at 8/1 with BetFred. With Christian Benteke and Wilfried Zaha injured, there is not much firepower up front, whilst Ruben Loftus-Cheek will sit out the game as he is ineligible to play against his parent club as part of a loan agreement. Taking this into regard, the Blues are favourites to secure a win against their south London rivals, and this is priced at 4/9 with Sky Bet. A draw looks highly unlikely this weekend, but one can have a punt with Sportingbet at 4/1.

Alvaro Morata has been the first player on the scoresheet for Chelsea in recent weeks, but Antonio Conte may have to rely on a different personnel this weekend with the Spaniard still short of fitness following his hamstring injury. Michy Batshuayi could make the cut for the starting line-up for only the second time this term, but Eden Hazard looks a better choice to open the scoring. The Belgium international has yet to open his scoring account in the Premier League, but he can be backed to score first against Palace at 41/10 with Unibet.

Chelsea are currently six points behind both Manchester clubs – Manchester City and Manchester United, and a win over Palace could potentially close the gap on the latter, should they drop points in a tough-looking trip to Liverpool.
