Its on days like these that King Kenny and his Liverpool boys have to make it count. Whilst the rest of the top 6 challengers have been travelling all over europe and playing in hard-fought matches, the Reds have been staying put on the training field in Melwood, and going through their paces – if we don’t have the better energy, pace and desire this week, we never will have it!
It’s not been desire that has been missing so far this season. Last week we did everything right apart from put the ball in the back of the Onion Bag, and were unlucky to come up against a well-organised Stoke side. If only that penalty had been given it would have been a different game altogether.
Spurs will be another tough challenge, not least because they also choose to risk their European football in favour of playing their big guns in the Premier League, with Rafa van der Vaart not even named in the European squad for the rest of the season. Expect him to be influential if he manages to pass a fitness test.
Sunday might see the welcome return of club hero Steven Gerrard on the pitch, though it’s unlikely he’ll be on from the start. Henderson and Adam have done a reasonable job so far, but Gerrard can make things happen…
The extra rest, and watching everyone else playing in europe should give us the extra impetus, even if we are away from home. We think Liverpool will edge it 2-1 (8/1 at Paddy Power).
If anyone scores, we think its going to be Luis Suarez. He’s looked in amazing condition so far this season, and should have the finishing to beat a tired Spurs backline. He’s available at 9/2 at various bookies.
Place this bet with BetClic and you can’t lose – because it’s your first bet, even if Suarez doesn’t score first you will get your money back. This isn’t like a normal free-bet where they make you spend it on the site, you can actually just take your money back! If you stuck £30 on (the maximum Bet Clic will refund you), you would walk away with almost £150! All completely risk-free! Click here to take advantage of this deal!
