Lack of significant contribution from winger Eden Hazard leads to Team Losing

One of the primary reasons for Chelsea struggling to have any sort of form in the 2015-16 season is a lack of significant contribution from winger Eden Hazard.

Last season’s PFA Player of the Year has struggled to make any impact so far. Despite his role not changing significantly compared with last season, Hazard is no longer scoring goals or assisting. This is proving to be a major problem for Chelsea, but there were signs of resurgence in the 4-0 win overMaccabi Tel Aviv. Jose Mourinho has also kept his faith in the Belgian international and he has continued to play the full 90 minutes.

As a result, bookmakers are expecting the winger to finally break his duck for the season. In five Premier league appearances so far, Hazard is yet to score. However, he has a decent record against Arsenal and could take advantage of the recent poor form of the gunners. The midweek action also saw Diego Costa get his first goal for Chelsea outside the Premier League. He scored 20 goals last season and all of them came in the domestic competition. Costa is now rated at 13/10 to find the net at any time in the match, while Hazard is given odds of 2/1 to score any time in the match.

The return of Oscar was hugely influential for Chelsea, as the Brazilian’s movement and attacking instincts help them make several chances over the course of 90 minutes. The result could have been far greater had it not been for the missed penalty by Hazard. The Belgian winger only has one assist so far this season. However, he has scored in both recent international matches for the national team against Bosnia and Cyprus.Hazard’s only assist came in the 3-2 win over West Brom a few weeks ago.
